Lisa qualified in Beauty Therapy in 1998 and began her career with Clarins, where she developed a strong foundation in professional skincare, treatment and client care. During her time with Clarins, Lisa achieved the accolade of being the UK’s top retail seller — a fantastic recognition of her knowledge, client care and passion for professional skincare.
With a natural entrepreneurial drive and passion for the beauty industry, Lisa went on to build a successful professional beauty website and opened Cocoon Hair & Beauty, which went on to win multiple Reading Retail Awards. At one stage, Lisa was also recognised as one of the top Dermalogica sellers in the UK, with her website receiving industry awards and recognition.
After successfully selling the hair side of the business and moving on from the larger salon environment, Lisa returned to what she loves most — hands-on beauty therapy and looking after her clients.
With more than 20 years’ experience, numerous professional qualifications and a wealth of ongoing training, Lisa has built her reputation on high standards, honest advice and treatments that deliver results while still feeling relaxing and personal.
Lisa is particularly passionate about skin health and Skin Rocks, having trained with the brand and developed her expertise in its approach to personalised, results-focused skincare. She believes great skin starts with understanding what your skin actually needs, rather than simply following trends or using an endless number of products.
Her experience has also led her to share her knowledge with the next generation of therapists. Lisa has been invited to speak to beauty students at Reading College, sharing her experience of working in the industry and building a successful career in beauty.
Her career has also given her some incredibly memorable experiences. Lisa appeared on television with Sir Trevor McDonald, providing makeup for a survivor of the Paddington rail disaster who later became a friend — an experience that remains particularly special to her.
Today, Lisa is the proud owner of Cocoon Beauty and Aesthetics at The Heights in Caversham, her appointment-only professional home salon. She continues to invest in training and education, keeping her knowledge current across skincare, beauty and aesthetics.
After more than two decades in the industry, Lisa’s approach remains simple: professional expertise, honest advice and genuinely personal care.
