LisaLisa de-la-Plain is the co-founder of the popular BeautyFlash.co.uk website, which has been selling hair & skincare products for over 6 years. Lisa has been a practicing skin care professional for almost 15 years and opened Cocoon Hair and Beauty Salon on Cross Street, Reading in November 2009. Cocoon is the result of Lisa’s customer focused attitude to hair & beauty and desire to use her 7 years of self employed experience to open a hair & beauty salon with a difference. Cocoon client’s are treated to a luxurious salon experience, with practical advice in a contemporary, modern environment. Lisa has worked hard to make sure all Cocoon staff fully understand a client’s needs and it is this attitude that has won her awards such as the Clarins Best Retailer in the Country and her current nomination in Reading Retail Awards for Retailer of the Year. Lisa’s experience in the industry has led her to being an expert witness in a trademark legal case involving beauty products, and working on the Tonight with Trevor McDonald ITV programme helping a Paddington rail disaster survivor to use suitable make up.
JennyJenny Dodd, Cocoon Salon Manager, is a professional highly skilled Style Director with a wealth of expertise drawn from her 13 years of continual training and development. Jenny is a L’Oreal colour technician, qualified Balmain hair extension specialist and specialises in dressing hair for any special occasion. Jenny is a multi talented stylist who enjoys both colouring and cutting hair and the variety in her work means she can take pride in helping her customers maintain their favourite style or provide them with a new direction! Her down to earth, warm attitude means she maintains a very large and loyal customer following which is reflected in her loyal attitude to her customers and her fellow staff. I have been with Cocoon now for a year and am very proud of how the salon is building a fantastic reputation and this is down to the amazing talented team we have. With our expansion Cocoon is proving to be the best salon I have had the pleasure of being a part of and managing.
TrinaTrina started her career in Ireland 10 years ago and has joined Cocoon as a Style Director and Colour Expert. Trina has a Masters in Colour and enjoys the creative side hairdressing brings. Trina is looking forward to furthering her knowledge of hairdressing within Cocoon and she is excitied to meet new clients, and in helping them to achieve their own style.
BeckieBeckie is a talented, much loved, Senior Stylist who has built up a loyal client base since joining the Cocoon team in November 2009. In the past Beckie has reached the southern finals of the L’Oreal Colour Trophy Competition. Beckie enjoys all aspects of hairdressing including both the colouring and cutting of hair but her particular interest lies in the creative side, Beckie is also a Balmain hair extensions expert. She loves nothing more than to help a client achieve a look that is both new and exciting. Beckie has the knack of listening to clients and making sure they leave with the look that suits them most!
Charlie Charlie recently started at cocoon in June 2011 as a Senior Stylist. She has always had a real passion for new trends and styles. Charlie has worked in salons from a very young age and has been qualified for 5 years. She thrives on competition work and is proud of her achievements. Charlie loves creative work including re-styles, colour, and hair up. Charlie especially enjoys wedding hair and loves feeling that she made an impact on Cocoon’s wedding clients 'Big Day'. Charlie has a diploma in L'Oreal Colour and is a Cocoon Colour Expert.
NatalieI'm a young bubbly talkative hairdresser, I started here at Cocoon beginning of July after wanting to forward my Career from my previous salon of which I was there 2 years. I love being able to put a smile on peoples face and making them feel 100 dollars and add them with confidence from their hair style. I enjoy being trusted with a individual to help them create new looks whether it be cut or colour. I love new modern trends and colouring techniques and am always up for a challenge helping people change and create new and exciting finishes.
Lian Lian loves to make people feel better about themselves and help them gain confidence in their look. Lian is a fun, bubbly person and loves meeting new people. Lian enjoys doing wedding hair; making a bride feel her best on her wedding day is the best feeling, knowing you created part of that is amazing. So come on in, I can’t wait to meet you!
AlisonAlison Pedley, Cocoon Beauty Therapist, can draw on her continual training and development within the beauty industry as she loves to learn new treatments and product ranges to keep her day varied and exciting. With 7 years experience and constant progression at work she has maintained extensive knowledge and understanding of skincare. She has attended regular courses at the International Dermal Institute and as a result welcomes new treatments and beauty knowledge. Alison has trained in many areas of beauty treatments to include tanning, nails, lash perming, makeup, massage and body treatments and relishes the variety in her skills!
StephAfter qualifying in 2006 I started my career with Decleor in a busy department store performing treatments and consultations. After 2 years I moved onto work on a cruise liner on which I performed luxurious massages and body treatments. On returning to the UK I continued developing my skills in beauty therapy in a spa. As a client of Cocoon hair and beauty I jumped at the application of beauty therapist as I loved the standard, environment and pace Cocoon has. Since joining Cocoon I have widened my knowledge further with demagogica, decleor, Jessica and bio sculpture. I continuously like to expand my knowledge and have also qulified in hot stone therapy courses, aromatherapy and many more.
JoannaJoanna trained as a Beauty Therapist for three years in Poland. She arrived in the UK in 2008 and started her career at Cocoon in 2010. Whilst working at cocoon she has been trained in Decleor, Dermalogica, Jessica and Bio-Sculpture. Being a Beauty Therapist is her dream job, as she enjoys meeting new people and making people feel special about themselves inside and out. She loves building on her knowledge and experience.
SilvieSilvie joined Cocoon in October 2011 to build upon the experience she gained from previous salon employment, which included the provision of beauty therapy treatments to guests at the prestigious Raymond Blanc’s Le Manoir aux Quat’Saisons in Oxfordshire. Silvie is a happy, enthusiastic, hard-working member of the team, keen to uphold Cocoon’s high standards and is excited about meeting new clients and ensuring that they leave Cocoon Hair & Beauty feeling good about themselves.
Lily-Rose Lily has been working in the hairdressing industry since 2008. Lily started her training as a hairstylist and qualified soon after. She has been working at Cocoon since March 2011 and enjoys every aspect of her role. She loves being a receptionist in the salon and making clients feel welcome from the moment they step through the door. She is a very happy, friendly person who prides herself on her client care and her knowledge of hairdressing and products from past years of mobile hairdressing and working hands on in previous hair salons.
LizLiz started at Cocoon in September 2011. She is currently studying Beauty Therapy Level 2 at Reading College and is loving being part of the team. Liz is based on reception at Cocoon and is using her existing body massage and sports massage qualifications to build on her knowledge of the industry.
ChrisHairdressing has been a passion of mine from a young a age, I remember going to salons and reading hair magazines and wanting to be involved in the creativity. I have been with team at Cocoon for over a year now and pride myself with what I have achieved so far. I’m training at college and in store and pride myself on the clients I have worked with so far. I’m working to develop my own style of hairdressing by using my knowledge, passion and creative flare. Furthermore I hope to build an extensive in-depth range of product knowledge. I will be training in wedding hair also as this is a area that I love and am determined to learn. I am currently looking for models for cutting and blow drying and will shortly be learning colour.
HaileyI have always known I wanted to be involved in the hairdressing industry and after leaving school I am overjoyed to be a member of Cocoon. I am working hard to learn all aspects of hairdressing and it has become my personal goal to achieve this at the highest standards. I want to be able to make people feel fantastic about themselves by giving them a style or colour that they want I am working hard through training to be the best I can be. I am friendly, determined and very willing to learn to ensure I will be the best I can in this industry.
NathanNathan started at Cocoon in August 2011. My ambition is to progress my way up to be Style Director level. I am currently training at college and should hopefully achieve my qualifications by June 2013. Once I have finished my basic training, I would love to specialise in fashion hair, enter competitions and work my way up to be the best. I love that instant results look, which inspires me to do the make-up side to complete the package. I look forward to a long careerwith Cocoon Hair & Beauty.
VictoriaHairdressing has always been a passion of Victoria’s and after completing her beauty therapy qualification decided upon a hairdressing apprenticeship. Victoria loves being able to make people look good which she believes makes them feel good. Victoria looks forward to qualifying as a hairdresser and being able to deliver the whole package and is optimistic about her career at Cocoon.
